#BMAWeek Day #4 – Chad Hilliard at Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School

When RIISE attended parent affinity group, MOSAIC’s post PoCC/SDLC recap, we were struck by the passion of the student of color affinity group, MECCA, and their  commitment to social justice and equity. It was wonderful hearing from of our future global leaders as they powerfully articulated their experiences and interactions at both the Student Diversity Leadership Conference and at CGPS. Therefore, RIISE thought it made sense to call upon Victor Puccio, Columbia Preparatory Dean and facilitator of MECCA to help us recognize black male achievement.

Meet Chad Hillard, who Victor Puccio nominated as “one of our seniors, for his academic work in addition to his leadership in our diversity club.” When we shared his nomination, Chad responded…
“Hello Ms. Collins, I would love to participate with your organization and I am honored to even have been considered…Thank you once again for this honor and I hope you have a great day. Gratefully, Chad Hilliard”

What a fine young man! Chad, we wish you continued success as you move on to Higher Ed. Remember, to reach back and mentor your CGPS & RIISE community after. We’ll be checking in on you.
