Equity Community Legacy & Future set the stage for Admissions Now at RIISE FBRE14

We are in the thick of the admissions season with open houses in full swing! Yet, the families that attended the 5th annual RIISE Fall Boutique Recruitment Event this past Sunday, know it’s not too late to begin to identify, connect or reconnect with schools they can consider partnering with to develop young bright minds. We were honored to present them with 16 distinct independent schools at Sarah Lawrence College to engage them.  Thank you to families, participating schools and sponsors – you made the experience happen.

But, first we had the privilege to hear the beautifully inspired stories of Zenaida Muslin that spanned 35 years. The stories were about educating through the lenses of equity, community, legacy & the future in independent schools. As an early leading advocate creating communities of affinity for educators, parents, and students of color, Zeny (as she is affectionately known) simply wowed the audience with wisdom and wit fortifying the decision for families of color to move boldly forward accessing independent school education.

Here is what a member school and a prospective mom thought about the quality of the day…

“My husband and I attended the RIISE event yesterday and wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We thoroughly enjoyed the conversation with Zenaida Muslin. Listening to her speak about her personal experiences and her 35 great years of working with independent schools confirmed that we are on the right educational journey for our daughter. To be honest, coming into the event we were skeptical about entering this process but Zenaida’s talk encouraged us to do what we think will be best for our child despite any challenges that we may or may not encounter. We look forward to more RIISE events in the future and to continue this journey with your support.”
Thank you,
Chanda and Joel Delgado

“Today’s fair was great! I met so many nice families who are clearly serious about independent schools. I suspect I will see several of the families I met in the near future on our campus.”
Thanks again,
Markell Parker , Horace Mann School
